Day-care centres

A day-care centre that knows who came in

No beds here and nothing to book. What you run is attendance, rounds, activities, and what each attendee actually did during the day.

What this kind of facility runs into every day

Three things that come up in most facilities of this type.

  1. The attendance book arrives a day late

When attendance is tallied in the evening, the problem has already happened: fewer people than expected, or someone who needed a follow-up nobody saw. Signing people in at the door makes the day visible while it is still happening.

  2. Nothing of the day survives the day

At closing time the only thing left of the day is a list of names. The rounds, the activities and the notes about someone are gone with the last supervisor out of the door.

  3. Families ask how the day went and nobody can say

A prepared summary per attendee — attendance, activities and any note — becomes the answer, instead of a staff member recalling it from memory.

How a day runs here in Wisal

Four things that repeat every day in this particular type of facility.

Signing in and out

A quick sign-in by name or code at the door, with entry and exit times in the same record.

The rounds programme

A weekly schedule of rounds and activities, who led each one, who attended, and what slipped.

Supervisor notes

A short note about condition, health or behaviour, attached to the attendee so it reaches whoever follows them tomorrow.

The day report to the family

At closing time a ready summary per attendee — attendance, activities, notes — sent to the family or printed when needed.

Common mistakes in this kind of facility

Three mistakes we see often, all of them avoidable by changing one habit.

  • Treating attendance as a head count, with nothing recorded about what each attendee did.
  • Planning activities on the whiteboard alone, so they are lost the first time the programme changes.
  • Answering a family question by phone with nothing written into the attendee file.

Questions care home managers ask

Direct answers, without exaggeration.

  • What is Wisal?

Wisal is cloud software for elderly care homes, care centres and residential facilities. It brings residents, rooms, daily care, medication, visits, staff, expenses, reports and communication with families together in one platform.

  • Is Wisal suitable for a small care home?

Yes. A small home can start with a simple setup and the two essential features, then add areas as it grows. The plans are designed for that.

  • Can I manage more than one branch?

Yes. Branches are added under one account, and each has its own manager, permissions and dashboard, while reporting stays unified across the organisation.

  • Can I add several users?

Yes. Each staff member gets their own account with their own permissions, and you can add as many users as your plan includes.

  • Are there different permissions?

Yes, eleven ready-made permissions: system administrator, facility owner, branch manager, reception, caregiver, nurse, doctor, pharmacist, accountant, HR, and family member. Each can be adjusted further.

  • Can I follow medication?

Yes. Every resident has a dose schedule with its times, the system records each dose and warns you when one is late, and it alerts the pharmacist when stock is running low.

  • Can I manage rooms?

Yes. Every room has a status (occupied, free, needs cleaning, maintenance), and a resident can be linked to a room directly.

  • Are there reports?

Yes: operational reports (occupancy, today’s tasks, team performance) and financial reports (income, expenses, payments and outstanding balances), all viewable and exportable.

  • Does the system work on a phone?

Yes, and it is designed for it: the nurse records the dose, the caregiver finishes the task, and the supervisor follows the shift — all from a phone.

  • Is my data safe?

Resident data is sensitive, and Wisal treats it that way: a separate account for every user, precise permissions, an encrypted connection, an activity log recording who did what and when, and regular backups.

  • Is there technical support?

Yes. The support team knows the care sector, and is available during the working hours when your care home runs.

  • How do I start the trial?

Create your care home account, add residents, rooms and staff, and start managing daily logs and medication. No credit card is needed to start, and you can export your data at any time.
