Start with the facility that sounds most like yours
Wisal runs residents, rooms, shifts, medication and billing. The priorities differ by facility: long-stay housing starts with the room and the contract, a day-care centre starts with attendance, and whoever works from spreadsheets starts with their own files. Each case is explained on its own here.
Six kinds of facility, one way of working
What does not change between them is the same foundation: a record per resident, an orderly handover between shifts, and numbers from one source.
Residential care homes
A file per resident, a roster per shift and a record per dose — with billing and reports that answer your questions in minutes.

No beds here and nothing to book. What you run is attendance, rounds, activities, and what each attendee actually did during the day.

A resident here stays for months. That is why the contract, the renewal, the invoice and the periodic assessment are part of daily running rather than something the facility remembers twice a year.

A specialist programme means different cases and different kinds of care under one roof. The record here holds what makes a case different and what the team has written about it.

Central management needs a combined view and a branch manager needs to see only their own. Both come from the same account.

Most people running a care home today know exactly where their data lives: a file on the desktop, or a paper book. The start here is practical, because it starts from your own files.
Read how this one worksFour rules that hold in any of them
Not additions to the system but the conditions that make any system work. These four come before anything else on this site.
-
One file per resident
Their name, details, care plan, medication and family visits in one place, not four files that drift apart over time.
-
A handover that is written
What the previous shift finished is on record, and whoever follows reads it before starting rather than waiting to be asked.
-
One source for the numbers
Occupancy, revenue and cost are read from the same record, so the same fact never carries two numbers.
-
Permissions before features
Who sees a resident record is the first decision, and every permission is granted to a role rather than to a named person.
Questions care home managers ask
Direct answers, without exaggeration.
-
What is Wisal?
Wisal is cloud software for elderly care homes, care centres and residential facilities. It brings residents, rooms, daily care, medication, visits, staff, expenses, reports and communication with families together in one platform.
-
Is Wisal suitable for a small care home?
Yes. A small home can start with a simple setup and the two essential features, then add areas as it grows. The plans are designed for that.
-
Can I manage more than one branch?
Yes. Branches are added under one account, and each has its own manager, permissions and dashboard, while reporting stays unified across the organisation.
-
Can I add several users?
Yes. Each staff member gets their own account with their own permissions, and you can add as many users as your plan includes.
-
Are there different permissions?
Yes, eleven ready-made permissions: system administrator, facility owner, branch manager, reception, caregiver, nurse, doctor, pharmacist, accountant, HR, and family member. Each can be adjusted further.
-
Can I follow medication?
Yes. Every resident has a dose schedule with its times, the system records each dose and warns you when one is late, and it alerts the pharmacist when stock is running low.
-
Can I manage rooms?
Yes. Every room has a status (occupied, free, needs cleaning, maintenance), and a resident can be linked to a room directly.
-
Are there reports?
Yes: operational reports (occupancy, today’s tasks, team performance) and financial reports (income, expenses, payments and outstanding balances), all viewable and exportable.
-
Does the system work on a phone?
Yes, and it is designed for it: the nurse records the dose, the caregiver finishes the task, and the supervisor follows the shift — all from a phone.
-
Is my data safe?
Resident data is sensitive, and Wisal treats it that way: a separate account for every user, precise permissions, an encrypted connection, an activity log recording who did what and when, and regular backups.
-
Is there technical support?
Yes. The support team knows the care sector, and is available during the working hours when your care home runs.
-
How do I start the trial?
Create your care home account, add residents, rooms and staff, and start managing daily logs and medication. No credit card is needed to start, and you can export your data at any time.
